OSD Task Sequence fails due to nested task sequence

Symptoms

During an OSD Tool Kit modified Task Sequence, the sequence fails unexpectedly and without logged error.

Cause

The Task Sequence, that was being executed at the time, contained a nested task sequence and fails at the step in the parent TS that calls the Child.

For example: The following screen shot show a Parent TS

that calls a Child TS in order to manage the download of Driver Files

The process falls over at the start of the “W10 Download Driver Task Sequence” Step without any logged error. The SMSTS.log file from the above was as follows:

Solution

This will be fixed in the next release but in the meantime please do not call nested Task Sequences in an OSD Tool Kit modified TS.
